Saturday morning aerobics

Finally Saturday! This week seemed extra long to me and so I am so happy to finally be to the weekend!

I had to get up bright and early to teach the Saturday morning aerobics class. The instructor rotates so we only have to work a couple of Saturdays a year.

It is a Cardio, Strength, Flex Class. 75 minutes long. About 40 minutes cardio, 15 min strength and 15 min abs/stretching.

Today we were kicked out of the aerobics studio because there was some training going on in there.  .. so we headed to the gym. It was nice because we had lots of room!

For the cardio portion, I made up 3 circuits to run thru, each move for about 30 seconds. I used some of the moves I have been doing with the 30 Day Shred! In the end, it looked something like this:

Circuit 1
Jumping Jacks
Mountain climbers on the floor
Jumping Jacks
Steam engines

In between in circuit, we did a few jogging laps around the gym.

For the strength portion, we did a variety of moves including:
Walk-out pushups
Alternating lunges with bicep curl
Triceps kickbacks
Military press with squat
Bridge hold and singles
Chest fly
Lunge hold with hammer curls
Upright rows
Pulse squats
Overhead press

Finally, we did a few minutes of abs:
Plank hold x 30 seconds
Standard crunch
Back reverse reaches
Reverse crunch
Standard crunch with 1 leg lift
Bicycles
Plank hold with side planks

And finished with a full body stretch, starting at the feet and working up to the head!

It was a good class. . . I got sufficiently sweaty!

Before class, I ate a fiber one bar with oats and chocolate on the way to the YMCA.

After my shower, I hit up the couch with my CSL and dakota bread from Great Harvest with Justin’s Maple Almond Nut Butter.

I also added some blueberries!

Now off to take on the day! We have a graduation party for our next door neighbor to go to and then we have some friends coming down from the cities to visit tonight. I hope the rain holds out so we can go for a hike this afternoon.

Any big plans for the weekend?
